Tabby cat hiding under a neighbor's porch steps wearing the Purrspot collar while his owner searches the sidewalk with her phone

Lost cats almost never go far. The problem is knowing which house.

In 2012 the ASPCA asked a thousand U.S. households how they got their lost cat back. Almost never from a shelter (2%). They found him by searching their own neighborhood, or he came home on his own. A 2018 study by a former police officer turned pet detective showed why: a lost cat hides, in silence, usually within a few houses.

The distance was never the problem. It was knowing which yard. Meanwhile the industry kept selling satellite GPS at $108 a year, while the answer was already walking down the sidewalk in every neighbor's pocket.

Purrspot™ puts that answer on your cat's collar.

A neighborhood watch that never sleeps and never sends a bill

Purrspot™ needs no SIM and no subscription. It uses the network already built into hundreds of millions of phones: every compatible iPhone that passes your cat anonymously relays his location to the Find My app you already have.

📍 Crowd-locate, no fees — the same network people use to find keys and AirPods

👨‍👩‍👧 Family sharing — everyone sees where the cat is

🏙️ Best in towns & suburbs — it shows a location whenever a phone is nearby; honestly weaker on farms and trails

About 57% of U.S. smartphones are iPhones (StatCounter, 2026), which is why this works so well on a normal street.

Stop renting your cat's safety.

The "real" trackers punish you twice: a subscription you pay up front ($108 a year for Tractive's basic plan) and a battery you recharge every 2 to 5 days, dead exactly the night your cat bolts. Purrspot™ removes both.

🚫 No subscription, ever — buy once, it's yours, nothing to shut down

🔋 About 12 months on one CR2032 — swap the coin cell once a year with the included tool

💧 Splash-resistant — built for outdoor cats

Close-up of the Purrspot breakaway buckle on a tabby cat's neck, owner checking the two-finger fit

Built for a cat's neck, not a keychain.

An AirTag in a rubber holder was never designed for a cat. Purrspot™ is a real breakaway collar: the buckle is designed to release under tension, so a branch or a fence doesn't hold your cat.

🛟 Breakaway buckle — designed to release if snagged

🪶 About 20 g — light on small necks, reflective strip for the road, bell for the birds

🔧 Adjustable — fits most adult cats, two fingers of room

No breakaway buckle releases in every situation. Check the fit regularly.

Peace of mind, without the two taxes

The "real" trackers charge you rent every month and make you recharge every couple of days. Purrspot™ drops both.

A neighborhood watch that never sleeps

The tag sends a tiny encrypted signal. Every compatible phone that walks past your cat quietly relays his location to the Find My app on your iPhone (or Find Hub on Android). No SIM, no subscription, no server that can shut down.

🔋

A battery that lasts

About 12 months on one CR2032 coin cell (varies with use). Swap it roughly once a year with the included tool — no charging every other night, when your cat needs it most.

Biscuit vanished for two nights last month. This time I watched his dot sit in the neighbor's shed and went and got him. The relief is hard to describe.

Set up in Find My in five minutes, and the breakaway clasp has already popped open once on the fence - exactly what it should do. The tag was still trackable in the backyard.

No subscription was the whole point for me. Six months in, zero fees, battery still going, and I check her dot every morning with my coffee.

We live near a busy road so her dot updates almost constantly. Out at my mom's place in the country it's patchier, exactly as they say upfront. Honest company.

Tom

Feather-light. Our kitten doesn't even notice it, and my partner and I both see her location from our own phones.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this real GPS or just a Bluetooth tag?

Neither, exactly. It's a crowd-locate tag: it sends a short encrypted signal, and any compatible phone that passes by relays your cat's location to your Find My app. That gives it a reach far beyond your own phone's Bluetooth, but it is not a live GPS stream. The dot updates when a phone passes, not every few seconds.

Will it find my cat on a farm, a trail or in the woods?

Probably not well, and we'd rather say it now. It works best in towns and suburbs where phones pass by. On farms, trails and in deep woods it may only show a last-known location. If that's your cat's life, a cellular GPS tracker with a subscription is the better tool.

I have an Android. Does it work?

It pairs with either iPhone (Find My) or Android (Find Hub), one network at a time. Coverage is lighter on Android: Google's network reports a location by default only in busier places where several Android phones have seen the tag. It works best on iPhone.

Why not just buy an AirTag and a $6 collar?

You can. You'll buy two things, assemble them, and trust a rubber holder and a buckle you haven't tested. Purrspot™ is one collar built for cats: integrated pod, breakaway buckle, reflective strip, bell, spare battery, tool, and a 30-day guarantee behind it.

Could the collar hurt my cat, or fall off all the time?

The buckle is designed to release when the collar is pulled hard, so a fence or branch doesn't hold your cat. That also means it can come off in a tussle. If it does, the tag tells you where the collar is. Fit it with two fingers of room and check it regularly.

How long does the battery last?

About 12 months on a standard CR2032 coin cell, depending on use. No charging. The app warns you when it's low; a spare battery and the compartment tool are in the box. Keep coin batteries away from children.

Will it beep or alert my neighbors?

It can. Apple and Google build unwanted-tracking protection into every tag: if your cat stays away from your phone for many hours, the tag may beep and a nearby person's phone may show an "unknown tracker" alert. It's normal, it's not loud, and more than once it has helped a neighbor find a cat in their garage.

Is my cat's location private?

Location relays through the Find My network are end-to-end encrypted. The phones that relay the signal never see what they relayed, and only your app can read it.

What if it doesn't suit my cat?

30-day money-back guarantee and a 12-month warranty. Email support@jarretthome.com or call (607) 414-8659.

Will it find my cat if someone takes him?

No, and we won't claim it. A tag can be found and removed. Purrspot™ is for the everyday case: a cat that wandered, hid or got shut in somewhere nearby.
